recently, my BCI is consricting my arm as tight as he possibly can, but does not hiss, strike or act in anyway aggressive. is she just getting a better grip so as not to fall? any other possible reasons?

Insecurity. Most of my boas hold on with what feels like a death grip when handled.

Mine typically wraps the end of her tail around one of my fingers. The other day she wrapped my hand and gave it a good squeeze.

I assume that was a joke.

Your face/head/neck are all VERY warm places on your body, so as linds said, heat. They also will tighten their grip if they feel insecure. No worries.
