I guess just having three li'l blues justifies all the sadness I'm feeling inside. Looking at them makes me smile.

Gosh, snakes make me such a sop.

Here's pics of the two that hatched on their own. I'm waiting for Mr. Umbilicus to drop off what he's not going to absorb b/c he sure don't look attractive right now!!

The baby on the left is the guy with the most bumps on him. However, the kink near the tail is the one that is most obvious, you can see it on the left near the edge of the pic.

Mr. Neck bump is on the right. He's a bit lighter and I think will be like Daddy, greenish with lots of yellow. Momma is blue like jeans.

I don't know their sexes, I just call them hims. I guess cuz they've got these cute li'l bulldog faces.

:( You guys sure have had to take more than your share of the bad with the good. I hope you can figure out what's going wrong and remedy it for the future.

I wish you guys all the best. :)

I think the easiest thing to do, is just not breed snakes at all! <sigh>

The rest of our clutches are looking good so here's hoping we post good news in a few days!

Awww Katt! Id feel the same way as you, I know, if the shoe were on the other foot- but dont blame yourself. All eggs in captivity are safe from inclement weather and predators, so the little guys you have now might not have made it out there in the real world! Be proud of your accomplishment with these guys, and congratulations, they look great!

I think they're terrible pics!!! I just didn't want to harass them too much before they've shed and fed.

They look really nice. If you want me to come over and take some decent pictures of them, I can.

3 is better than none - and you've got all the bad luck part behind you now, now is the time for the good luck to start happening!

One must not dwell on negativity little one, the seasaw of life goes both ways ; ) Mark
P.S. Remember also that baby rats have a habit of holding themselves im those kinked type positions too sometimes so it might not be as bad as it appears & just grow right out as the little suckas mutate & they will : )

I'm definitely sure the kinks will eventually grow out.

The third li'l guy dropped his umbilicus and boy is he beautiful! No kinks or anything, and he's bluer and whiter than the other two.

I'm pretty darn happy that at least I got these three. I'm giving one to Vanan and I'm keeping the other two. Can't wait til they get 7 ft!!

Sorry to read all about your trials and tribulations with this clutch. I am sure things will be better next time around!

I love the second picture, cool pic and darling little snake! Congrats.

Wow Congrats Katt;) I didint see that post.

Just dont worry about the kinks most of the time they are incubation temperature related. They have to be incubated a little cooler than corns. There's no problem breeding them. Are these form the pair you got from me and Denis? Because their blue resembles those you got ,they are even more blue than their parents if they are from taht pair....If they are well they are getting much bluer with each generation.

Yup Stav these are babies from the pair I bought from you. Daddy has gotten quite a bit of yellow and mom is very deeply blue.

The babies are absolutely beautiful!!!

Great looking babies you got there!

This was my first year breeding with a pair of my Calis, and it was a pile-up of problems almost all the way through. One of the babies ended up full-term-dead-in-the-egg, I know how awful that feeling is.

On the flip side though, the 5 babies that made it are doing fine, Mom is (now) doing fantastic, and I got a whole lot of education regarding breeding out of the way early. After all that, I still can't wait for next year and the next round. The ones that make it end up keeping you going 'til next year...

Gotta look at the positives.

Did I mention that the babies look awesome...? :D

No localities, these are CBB blue beauties and as such have no locale. To be honest, I haven't really seen any locale blues.
