I LOVE brewing my own hot sauce. I am stepping up production this year and will hopefully produce about 100 bottles. I sold out 50 bottles last year at $7 a bottle because tabasco peppers are so rare. If you want them, you have to grow them. And yes, it is MUCH hotter than that wussy Tabasco brand hot sauce :D

That's totally cool man. Where do you get the bottles and the labels??

I make the labels myself using Bumper Sticker vinyl adhesive so that it is weather proof. The bottles i buy online. I generally bottle the standard 5oz bottles and 1.5oz bottles.

I love hot sauce, really hot sauce, home grown peppers and home canned stuff - and would proudly display one of those bottles at the zoo!

When I was a kid my mother used to grow peppers like that. She told us they were "ornamental". I discovered how hot they were when I broke one open and touched it to my lips! My mouth burned for hours. (imagine......I even talked my friend into rubbing her lips too! Lmao) Oh well, had to share.

Yeah, Tabasco Peppers are up to 50,000 Scoville units. Tabasco brand sauce is only 5,000. The real hot sauce people say that it has a nice bite with a great follw up flavor. The weenies warn not to let it touch your lips. I am also going to try a milder version ............. Copperhead Karma :D

I am modifying the recipe a bit this year, so I need to make a couple batches to test. But I should be able to produce a couple hundred bottles this year. I sold out of 50 bottles last year at $7 a bottle.

i used to grow Tabasco's and Habanero's in my hydroponics set. they grow awesome. anyway I could get my hands on a couple of bottles of that stuff

Because of the cost in producing them and the fact that you cannot BUY tabasco peppers (the primary ingredient), theya re not cheap. lol Last year i sold out at $7 per bottle.
