Newb question

hey I dont know much about monitors, but looking at your pics has made me start thinking about getting one, If you guys could help me out and give me some names of some smaller ones, and I was also wondering if any monitors stayed small enuff to live in a 75gal?

Sorry, All the species i work with are bigger than 75 gallon, i can't help you but i'm sure someone else will talk you soon about acanthurus...

um... Storr's Monitor (varanus storri) or a Ridge-tailed monitor (varanus acathurus) stay fairly small i think the storr's get about 12-14inches and the acanthurus can get about 20 inches or usually a few inches shorter. and you could probably keep a pair of both species in a 75 gal.

75 gal. is a bit small for ackies... you'd need more like a 120 gallon (4' x 2' x 2')

75 should be enough for a Savannah Monitor on top of that they're decently easy to get "tame" as I found out though they have their limits to tame but still have never been biten. Of course do your research and find out whats right for you and may your choice be the best for you.

Sorry, a 75 galon will work for a few months for a sav. Mine seem to double in size every couple of months. I would never try to fit Sassy in an aquarium. She is around 2 and 1/2 feet now and growing steady. I started her in a 40 gallon breeder (as a farmed hatchling)and that worked for about for about 5 months.
