recently, a pal regaled me with his stories of tales of getting that bit of "extra protein"

i have read that this is not uncommon as i may have thought.....

i must say, this intrigues me to no end.

actually its more odd that we dont eat bugs rather than other countries eating bugs. bugs are a normal part of many people diets. over 49 countries some including korea, kenya, japan, laos, morocco eat bugs. its only really canada united states and eurpoe that dont eat bugs.

my 2 cents

LOL who said we don't eat bugs? Mike and I have eaten more bugs than we care to count :p I think silkworms take the care for flavour... tastes like fruity candy :flick: Guess we are the exception though... lol... can't really order bugs on the menu :p

hmmmm.....
ive been known to partake in the shrimp fest @ Red Lobster once or twice, but once i learned that these anthropods, along with lobster, crab and crayfish are basically in the same family, i've been having second thoughts on the next meal of coconut and shrimp scampi! lol!
On Pilot Guides, i saw South Pacific tribes partake in a FAT sago tree larvae meal and it looked to be pretty tasty in their eyes!
Linds, i think you may wanna try and hunt some of these Sago's down, they are as huge as your index finger!

i saw it..these people go out barefoot in the jungle and grab bird eaters. they tie the bird eaters in leaf bags. then they make a camp fire and cook the tarantulas which are eaten.

id love to try!!!
id try anything once....sadly ive even eaten snake. it was not good at all.
