I was wondering who works with these and what type of setup do you use? I am going to try and get a pair. I want to start a breeding project with these and Spilotes but the spilotes will be later on. Thanks for any info, I am also looking for LTC and CB if anyone knows where to find some that would be great.

These snakes are awesome!I was going to purchase one I handled at the store but had second thoughts.

They require a vertical cage with lots of hiding spots and humidity.

There's a few around. I was working with them over 10 years ago, and mine were CB from Quebec and were only a foot & half long when I got them. I think they were produced by Guy Lelande.
They are pretty high strung, with big appetites.
They have a cool ability to hold their tongues out longer than most snakes
I got eggs out of mine but never fertile ones, however I never cooled on conditioned mine in any way.At the time I had a huge collection and didn't devote the time to them that was required, so I eventually sold them. I think I paid a hundred bucks for mine but I've seen them for much more these days.
Be wary of wild caught ones, as they tend to be full of parasites and frequently die

Gonyosoma oxycephala is not hard to keep if you buy an Cb animal. With Wc animals there might be problems like with any wild specimen.

Thanks for the photo, I do understand this species is an advanced one is WC but I am going to buy CB or LTC of 6+ months. I also want to know what size cage people who keep them find the best and their opinions on housing them. Thanks.
