I had a few minutes after work yesterday, so I decided to experiment with the digicam a bit before heading home and take some pictures of a few of my favorites.
This is one of my adult female Green Tree Pythons. I bought her from Corey Woods a couple of years ago. She's of unknown locale, but she looks identical to a Manokwari type female I had last year, and if the other one hadn't died suddenly of kidney failure, they would be very difficult to tell apart. She's actually gravid right now and should be laying her eggs within the next month. She was paired with my Keylime Sorong male all spring. I never once witnessed any copulation between them, so when she ovulated nearly three weeks ago, I was pretty surprised, especially this late in the season.

This is one of my Biak type males. He's a 1998 CB VPI animal that I bought from Vince down at Port Credit Pets last year. He has an awesome yellow head, and an extremely bad attitude, which makes him a lot of fun to take pictures of because he is definately not camera shy....if it smelled like a rat, he'd probably eat it.

This is one of my LTC Tanimbar Scrub girls. I also bought her from Corey Woods, along with the rest of my Tanimbar Scrub Pythons about 2 1/2 years ago. I currently have 2.3 adult Tans, of which 1.2 are LTC, and the other 1.1 pair were captive bred in the U.S. by Nick Mutton. Since she was a wild caught, she was fairly small when I got her, but she has decided this year that she really likes to eat and is now bigger than my Captive bred female that produced for me this year. Hopefully she will produce next year.

This is one of the two Tanimbar babies I produced this year. These are really odd little snakes.....both hatched on June 11, and neither one of them has shed yet. The other one has already eaten four meals and is finally coming into shed now, but this little guy has yet to eat or show any signs of an upcoming shed. I really don't know what to expect from them, except to get bit when I put my hand in their bin for cleaning and water bowl changes. Just have to wait and see how long it actually takes.

This last pic is of the four red baby biaks I produced, and was actually taken about three weeks ago right after they all hatched, just before I separated them all into their own enclosures. They're all doing really well, except that so far none of them are showing any signs of being hungry. They did have huge yolk bellies after hatching, so they will probably be o.k. for a while before they start to get hungry and hunt. Today is feeding day, so I will try them again, and if they don't eat voluntarily tonight, I will probably leave them for another couple of weeks and wait for them to show signs of hunting. Right now they seem to be content parked on the perch 24/7, so it's probably best to just be patient and wait until they are ready on their own.
