well, poop. My big 2 year old girl is AWOL somewhere in my apartment. its been three nights that i have stayed up looking for her. im really worried. i have looked everywhere......this isnt the first time either, she usually shows back up slithering around at night and i pick her up and place her back in her house. ( i weigh down her lid with 4 ( count em 4 ) phone books and 3 reams of typing paper and she still managed to escape. so where do i look? what do i do??? i really really she found a way OUTSIDE and im really upset. can anyone give me some advice?:(

dust the entire house with flour. LOL
i think it time for a better cage.

put mouse on plate then dust with flour around it and put a nice warm hide out.

look in areas that are dark and comfy close to the cage
has worked for me

also I have heard that if the enclosure is over 18 inches in height ball python have great difficult in getting enough leverage to push hard. also try straps to hold down the lid instead of weight.

Well you might look in back of the fridge or freezer under the stove, check the underside of chairs and couchs for rips in the fabric she might be wraped up in the springs inside , piles of cloths blankets ect ect. in the closets .
Good luck

one thing you can do is take a pail or some container that would be as tall as she is long set something that the snake can climb up like a rope into the enclosure, cut the the nose off a rat, rub the rats nose up the rope or what ever you use for a ramp and toss the nose and the rest of the rat into the pail.
