Whats in your camera bag?

After looking at lots of everyones photos and stuff, im dying to know what kinda cameras everyone has. Some peoples pics turn out super sharp and stuff, and I just dont see how people do it.

I have some olympus digital thing hubby bought himself for his birthday- but I dont know how to change all the fun stuff on it. One day I will break down and read the manual! With your camera, are you messing with shutter speeds and apertures and all that fancy photography stuff, or do you just point and shoot?

Im trying to improve my picture taking, and on my digi cam it makes you hold down the button halfway for a second so it can focus, then you push it all the way in or some nonsense to actually take the pic. The end result is that your pics only come out cool if what you are photographing is absolutely still, and since most of pics are of children or animals, you can guess how often that happens!

I got a Fuji Finepix S304 and i can take decent pics with it :)
On my camera i got the same thing you have, considering the focus thingie. Thing is, that the object you want to photograph has to be lit rather well. If not, the best thing to do, is to turn on the flash. Because if the lighting is to dark, the shutter will shut down slower, which makes a moving object go blurry.
Anyways, thats the way i work with it, maybe it works different on an Olympus.
You just have to try every setting on it and play around with them. Thats the best way to learn, just shoot away. Doesnt really matter if its blurry or something, just delete it then. The wonders of digital photograving :D

Photography is a great hobby and it coincides well with keeping herps because herps make great subjects to shoot.

Read the manual. Some cameras have lots of options that are fantastic once you understand exposure and how cameras work. Do some reading on basic exposure. Get to know what shutter speed and aperture numbers are. Learn how to control depth of field and when & how to use the flash.

We use the Kodak DX4530 (Camera details here (http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=1155&pq-locale=en_US)). Chappy seems to know how to use it better than me :p But i'm learning, he's taught me a few things and i plan on trying them out soon! I think that investing in a digital camera is worth it, you can do so much with it and deleting bad pics before you get them develloped is always good too :d

I have a Sony FD83, which takes pretty decent pics, however, I want to buy another one that will give me sharper images. It's only one megapixel, but I'd like to upgrade up to five megapixels. Of course, I must work many months to afford one of those (unless you guys can recommend different?)

The cool features about my camara are that you can not only photograph in color, but alos B&W, sepia and has a wide range of effects. It's got a 6x zoom which is *ok* but the macro feature is awesome if you are extremely patient with it. My camara also has the second delay for focusing, but if you have the option (as with mine) you can focus manually, which may or may not frustrate you even more.

I can also set exposures, f-stops and other things, which I am comfortable with since my first camara was a Mamia-Sekor SLR.

The best thing about my Sony is, in my opinion, the fact that it accepts standard floppy diskettes directly, and I don't have to fuss with all the port, usb connection crap. I just remove the disk from my camara and insert into my computer... how simple is that?? =)

You should post some pix here from your camara so we can see what you dealin' with =)

Our digital is a Kodak Easyshare CX6230, 2.0 mega pixels, and the extra card, so we can take over 650 pics.

After using it for 6 months, I think I can take decent pics now, lol. I used to work at an animal shelter, and always took pics there. Practice makes perfect ;)

I've got a digital Rebel as well as an Elan 7. Along with the cameras I've got a Tamron 90mm macro lens and a 300mm Canon lens. I just got the Rebel a week or two ago. It seems like an amazing camera.

Alright, it's going to be a couple of weeks before I get my digital camera (dammit) so here's a question to those who use them. All digital cameras I've seen are colour, is it possible to take black and white with them?

Some cameras have a black & white mode but just about any image software will allow you to convert a color image to black & white so a b&W mode is just a useless selling feature.

Pentax Optio S4 4.2 MP. Macro, colour filters built in, remote, AC adaptor 3D piture mode. And a Nikon FA 35mm and a Canon Rebel SX 35mm. Colkin filters, tripod and stored safely in lowepro caring cases.

I have a Canon Powershot A40. It's a simple point and shoot camera. Great pics for the price, and super user friendly :cool: It's a good thing to because I don't know a whole lot about cameras, just that lighting is of utmost importance and if you are taking pics without a flash you should use something to completely immobilize your camera so it doesn't turn out super blurry.

I just took this the other day, through a dirty glass window. Spider is about 1 cm or so in length.
