Did you get to check out any of their "dwarf" kings? Interesting to find out if they are indeed "rodent eaters in the wild"...what an amazing claim!
I saw them. I am going over there to try and feed them in a few days. They have not eaten as of yet in captivity. They are neat as it is something new. I know there has been alot of interest in them.
dwarf kings?? tell me more please.. :P

Ray H. said that they are chomping down on dead snakes but didn't pay any attention to live mice when offered...he mentioned trying dead rats in a few days...
Personally, I find it hard to believe that they are rodent eaters in the wild.
Dwarfs? Sure, it's easy to believe that an insular form would be smaller than mainland forms due to enviornmental and/or genetic restrictions.

All the lit. I have seen says they are POSSIBLE RODENT EATERS. I have never heard that they are for certain Rodent Eaters. I personally have my doubts, but then I believe you can get any HEALTHY King Cobra switched over to rodents with time and patience. One of the Dwarfs ate a Malaysian Vine Snake (about 4 feet) the other ate a 4 foot Emerald Tree Boa (Dead).
Jay, You got a good deal on that King. Take good care of him.

Ray,
I hope you didn't mistake my post, I said I have a hard time believing they are rodent eaters in the wild, I am well aware kings can successfully be switched over to rodents in captivity.
On another note, do you still have plans for your captive king breeding program, and selling baby kings already feeding on pinks? That would be awesome, but it'll definately be a while before I'd be able to get one...I'll know where to go though when I'm ready.
By the way, how many kings do you have of your own?

psilocybe , I am more sceptical about them being rodent eaters than anyone. I have my doubts. They sure are good snake eaters though.

Absolutely! I still have a lot to learn from George Vanhorn about breeding Kings. I have no experience in breeding, just venom production. My business is keeping me so busy that I don't know when I will start this project.

Next time you are at ERJ, see if you can feed the Dwarf Kings pre-killed rat pups. Let me know when you are going, and I will meet you there.
Peace,
Ray
Ray,
Will do. I just got back in town. I will call you in a few days once I know my schedule this week.
Thanks
