Hey... I just purchased a Borneo STP... Approximately 12", a nice chocolate milk color, and very nice, clear scale design... Has beautiful spots running down the back. My question is this.
I know a Borgersmai has lip scales that run up to the eye, and a Borneo has a row of small scales that run under the eye. This snake seems to have no small scales under the eye, but the head scales seem to look like a borneo.. Do these small scales under the eye get more pronounced as they get older? Or do they appear early, as juvies? This snake is beautiful, and has a good disposition, but has me perplexed. I got it at a Borneo price, but according to the sub-caudal scales, seems to be a Borgersmai.
Regardless, he's a great specimin, and seems well adjusted.
I'll post pics as soon as I can, so you all can have a look.
What is your thoughts?
ax.
BTW, Borneos are plentiful where I am, and a borgersmai is hard to get, so I purchased it as a Borneo, but appears to me t be a Borgersmai.....Thus the price difference....
