visit www.wyzza.ca there is a section where he explains how to breed crickets.
Edit: sorry I tought there would be an english version to the how to, but there isn't.
It would need more than a 4 gallon to breed the crickets, more like 3 to 4 containers
Sirptsapt.. ;)
funny you mention that... I'm looking for a translator for my help sheets. Sure I'm bilingual, but lazy. :)
Interested ? ;)

I used 40 gallon Rubber Maide containers with 15W lights and sub 'tank' heaters. They are not too difficult to breed and raise but I gave up on them and now breed roaches (lobster and cave) and meal worms. Crickets are too much of a pain to breed compared to the others. I found that anything that likes crickets will like lobster roaches as well.

Ya trust me its pain to raise but easy to breed, i can only raise them to pin heads! But thats the size i need, but they never get bigger in my care lol
O ya tanks dont work, when babys hatch they can climb on the gule stuff and get out, happened to me lol

Check out this link (http://chamownersweb.com/insects/cricketbrdng.htm) for info on how to breed crix.
I modified it a bit, since that set-up will produce 1000's of crickets a week, and you won't need that many. I kept about 3 dozen adult crickets in my breeding tub, and added 6-10 medium sized crix every week to keep enough breeders in there - once they reach breeding age they die pretty quickly after that. That many gave me a couple hundred a week(I gave some away). I also used a smaller tub - not the rubbermaid shoebox, the one a little bigger than that one - forget what it's called... Also, I didn't bother with water, just fresh lettuce and oranges every couple days.
Anyways, that link will explain all the details, just change some of the sizes and it doesn't require a lot of work. BUT, BE PREPARED FOR ESCAPES! Put them somewhere fairly warm where it won't matter if a couple get out and chirp, because no matter what, some WILL get out and if it's, oh say, in your bedroom, it'll drive you nuts(did you know they can burrow under carpet...?) - trust me... ;)
