Couple of "Prairie Chicken" aka Short-tailed Grouse chicks. Couldn't resist when we saw a family of them crossing the road en route to our campsite.

Man.. I was totally thinking the Vanan man was out cruising for chicks. ;) Very cute! So they're slow enough to catch? :S It's a wonder they survive! :)

As for being slow, not really, but they're stupid enough to try and sit still and use their camouflage to stump me. Didn't work. They kinda did a run-really-quick for 3 secs then stop and wait kinda run. Typical Galliformes stupidity.
