View Full Version : larger boas
I know there are attempts to breed "dwarf" retics. Is there anyone out there attempting to breed extra large boas. You know xtra lg male to xtra lg female. Just a thought. Probably sitting at the computer too long.
Dwarf and "super" dwarf retics are a specific locale of retic that are naturally occurring, not selective breeding. There is a naturally occorring mexican locality of Bci that is dwarf. There aren't any "giant" locales though. I'm sure there are many people that are trying to breed their larger scale boas to other larger scale boas, but I don't know of anyone seriously selectively breeding generation after generation for it.
Thanks, I wasn't aware that dwarf retics were a natural deal. Ya learn something everyday. Just one of the benefits of this forum!

I have an 8 or 9 foot male boa that I am looking for a suitable mate for to see if I can breed for size. I just bought 2 female boas and Erin bouhht 1, that were just born from an 11 foot mother known to produce HUGE babies. We have another male boa from her that is already 5.5 feet at only 2 years old. So, in the next few years, who knows... I may have larger than normal boas. :)
