You might try with Lindsay Pike. I don't know if he ships to Canada, though... Here's the website: http://www.urotopia.com

I don't know any local breeders. You will want to get captive bred.

These pictures were taken about a year ago. I don't really have anything more recent, and find taking pictures of the Ornates is very difficult. They always change colours on camera. The male pictured is actually very, very blue now with yellow markings.

Now that it's summer perhaps I'll try some out door pics with them.

We have 3 uromastix at the moment. And to tell you the truth, initially I found those reptiles looked stupid. I always said they suffered from trisomy 21 gene deficiency. Which is true if you look at their faces ;-)

But today, I have to say I like those guys quite a lot. We rescued 2 and my gf bought a male in a petshop. I still don't understant where they get their energy from to be so hyper during the day!!!

By the way, very nice ornates you have there Niagara, think you will have babies from them soon?

Thanks for the nice words guys.

This coming winter will be my first attempt at Uro breeding, so we'll see how it goes.......I bought two pairs of Ornates as juveniles and they are just getting up to size now. I also have U. hardwicki that we are raising up from hatchlings.

I have a question for Jon K. I also have a pair of ornates and I was wondering how old yours are, they are very beautiful! My male is probably 8 months old and is starting to develope that awesome blue/green colour. They are about 8in long. 2 questions, how big will they get when they mature? My ornates seem to be picky eaters, what are you feeding yours?

Thanks!

What are the Growth Rates of these Guys???My Cousin Has a Lil Mali still young looks almost like a hatchling a tiny bit darker but hes had it for 2-4 months(time flies lol dunno when he got it but around there) When Do These Things Grow???My cousins isnt at 40 grams yet(lol me and him having a contest to see what wieghs more my leo or hes uro last night he beat my leo by 2 grams!)anyways also his uro is like always in the cave....could it be isnt not growing cause it doesnt get itself enough daylight???it used to be really active when he first got it always used to run super fast and rub its tummy in the sun and just take the rays anything wrong with it(it eats though oh it also still runs fast)
