View Full Version : UPDATE on Tiny leo That Laid....
My leo who i posted about on the board a while back about laying eggs for the first time9she was my first reptile) is makin an excellent recovery, she was 26 grams when she laid...people said that was pretty light. I still dunno why she laid...But shes now like 32-35 grams...i still would like her to gain faster...i mean when she was 26 grams she wasnt thin or anything, had a fat tail and etc, sheeats now about 21 mealies in 2-3 days...am i over feeding or not feeding enough?I want her in the end to at least wiegh 50 grams if possible, also shes been eatin calcium and etc, shes also shed maybe twice since she laid(she laid about 1-2 months ago,lol cant remember)
You might want to try super worms. they are bigger and have less chitin.

Wax worms will fatten her up pretty fast...... Also try to offer a pinky here and there......
Pinkies are not a good way to fatten a leo up. They are not "made" to digest mamalian(sp) meat and fat. The safest way would be to keep it on a reguler feeding scedual and introducing some wax worms every once in a while.

They aren't 'made' to digest mammals, but they do eat them in the wild if they can find any. Once in a while is okay, but not regularly. There's a lot more nutrition in a pinky than in a waxworm. Nocturnal geckos will happily supplement their diet with a pinky since it also contains a whole range of nutrients including some Vit D3, something they need, and is really easy to get that way.

She just Devoured 36 Mealies,I had no time to get Silkies yet???
