View Full Version : There goes number 2!!!
Yes!, I wasnt sure if the second egg was going to hatch, as it was at least a week over the second. He finished shedding fine, and i think he already ate. Im going to move them to a larger cage so i can make sure they both eat. The first one ate before the other one came, and the second is eating as well. Im wondring about a few things though..... why hasnt my mother viper laid eggs again...?? and is there any reason that the second baby is much more active then the first???
Thanks,
Geoff

I wouldn't give baby geckos a very big cage , because they would have trouble catching food.

Maybe #2 is just exploring, and #1 is already acclimated?
My female laid between 18-24 days apart, give her time, if she's gravid she'll lay again. does she look fat???
I would not recomend moving them to a bigger cage. I keep mine in groups of 2 in small Wendy's salad containers, anything bigger they won't be able to find the food.
Probably no reason why #2 is more active.... they have different personalities. Just make sure your temps are good, and you are feeding enough. I feed between 20-30 1/8 crix a day for each pair. Trust me they can take it, they gobble them down like candy. It also helps them grow a little quicker so you can bump up the size of the crix sooner.
Mine wont eat more then 6 each a day... then they will just ignore them! and also... my more active one is amazingly scared of my tiny crickets. His brother eats them fine, but he will eat 1 or 2... then just run away the whole time.. Is his brother stressing him out? should i separate them?
thanks,
geoff
mine do that too, they get all spazy and run like crazy when you put the crix in. I figure it's just from stress, they get all freeked out when the see me, then add in all these tiny crix on them. They eventually calm down and start feasting.
