Filming for Survivor Vanuatu started on June 28.
There's a good chance we'll see something very new this time around ... there was an earthquake in Vanuatu Friday, July 02, 2004 at 04:24:27 AM local time! The quake restistered at magnitude 5.1, not the worst kind, but definitely scarey enough. And even scarier if it's in the dark, and you're 'stranded' in a makeshift shelter in the middle of nowhere.
It could just end up with a mad scramble to rebuild their camps first thing in the morning, someplace out in the middle of a clearing far from cliffs and trees.
If there are any whimps in the group, there might be a mass exodus of quitters. Imagine of Osten Taylor had been in this one? Wonder if they'll have to keep the Quitters' Boat handy again. ;)

I'd be WAY more scared to be in an earthquake downtown New York or downtown Toronto than to be in a earthquake in the middle of NOWHERE.

Jeff, just imagine that man, coconuts falling on your head!! That's freaky!! If you had a straw, you could make some 'summertime in a shell'.. ;)

I have been in a 6.3 quake in Asia... and it sure it scary when big buildings sway back and forth. But on an island, I doubt there would much danger.

Nevertheless, looking foward to the drama of Survivors.

Cheers,
JJ;)

P.S. Geoff, never knew you liked Survivors. :) Good stuff.

Remember when there was that quake back in October or November '98 that was felt in Toronto?

I was on the 10th floor of the North American Center at Yonge/Finch when it hit, and it felt like standing in a small boat. The floor felt like it was moving in waves.

We thought a gas main had blown in the parking garage at first. It was crazy! :)
