i'm looking into getting an automatic misting system because i'm going to have more than 3 cages set up in a little bit. any of you out there use one and would like to recommend it? right now, i'm looking at the one made by bigappleherp.com. i guess the only requirements i have are that it be fully automatic (no pumping), timed, and under $200. lets see some of your setups~! thanks in advance.

I've got that and her is my take on it. It works fine after you fix it. I had to re-wire it since they did a lousy job and I also needed to buy hose clamps (zip ties included didnt cut it). It works though. I also got and aquarium heater for the bucket along with a water pump and stone to keep the water bubbling so nothing starts to grow. The final touch was gertting heat rope (from Big Apple) and wrapping it around the first couple of feat of tubing just before the misting nozzle. This keaps the water warm so its more inviting to the cham - chams (and us by that matter) dont like cold showers. I got a rheo-stat from Big Apple to control the power to the heat rope.

AS for multiple cage - that should work. I think it can handle a lot of nozzles - 20 I believe. So that enough for 3 cages. I would want a bigger bucket though. If you knew wher to get the parts, you should just do that. It consist of a bucket, tubing, one nozzle, zip ties, high pressure pump, and an unended power chord. Most of that you can get at Lowes, not sure where ro get the pump and you can buy the nozzles from BA.

thanks for the info roo. do you think it would be better for me to just build a system using parts from lowe's and home depot then? because it sounds like theres not too much to it. thanks again~

yea, i found the barr's system and instructions, but they use a garden pump style setup and i was really looking for something more automated. also, the materials to make it would have ended up costing me close to what the big apple system costs. thanks for the suggestion tho~

I would try and get the parts and maybe get the misting nozzles from Big Apple or LLLReptile. You may be able to get the nozzles locally - who knows.
