Beardie with Prolapses(sp) need help

We have a 1.3 Bearded Dragons, one of our females has a Prolapses(sp) can anyone help or explain on trying to get it back in, we heard it may have been caused by sand in there enclosures, Any help would be greatly Appriecated Thanks Phil & Kim PM us or call 905-576-6566 (collect if need be)

keep it lubircated! some kind of commercial lubrication would work to keep it from drying out. You definatly need to see a vet on this one, but for the time being keep it clean and dont let it dry out!! can be fatal.

from personal expreience...

soak her in sugar water 10-20 min. dissolve as much sugar as you can in warm water. the more sugar the better.

If it does not return, use K-Y jelly or other lube (no spermacide) and a q-tip. lube up the prolapse and use the q -tip in a rolling motion pushing the prolapse back in carefully.

It can be caused by a bacteria or an irritant. It can be serious and if not resolved immediately could render her sterile or worse. If it reoccurs it may need to get a stitch put in to hold it.
