Okay, well I know quite a few of our members here are from the maritimes, and being a big CFL fan, I was curious as to how many of you easterners would consider attending some football games if you guys got a team? If you have any opinions just type them out, it's about time we got a CFL thread on here!

P.S. GO ARGOS:D

Halifax should have got a team 15-20 years ago! But they have no stadium. And now, with the popularity of 3-down football in Quebec being what it is, its going to be pretty hard to keep the CFL ou of Laval.
I vote for the Schooners though. Almost happened once. Tom Wright will make it happen. He's da man.
Go Green Riders...........

Another team for the Stamps and Ti-Cats to kick butt on would be nice. :D
(Sorry, I'm always loyal to my hometown... but I've always loved Hamilton too! Danny Mac is the man!)

Fatty Mac is indeed the man this year. 550 yards passing last game! Holy sh*t!!!! He's on FIRE. If only he had Darren Flutie back..........

I agree, I was at the game against Winnipeg and I was extremely impressed, I mean his first past went for almost 80 yards, incredible!
Go Green Riders...........
Riders are having a rough start so far, they're my second favourite team and I was pretty dissapointed to see Nealone go down so early in Toronto, however it did help give the Argos their first win:p. I still don't understand why Butler went in instead of Burris that game though, I was at the game and I saw Burris warming up on the sidelines and he looked fine, he even held the Mccalums first field goal.....
Double Blue Alex :D
I've always thought that there's too many teams in the NFL.
Maybe they can donate the Cinncinnati Bengals to a good cause...

The Cfl only has 9 teams as of now, another team in the east will even out the leauges. I agree that the nfl has too many teams, but making the Cfl have 10 teams compared the Nfls 28/29(or however many, Nfl sucks so I wouldn't know) shouldn't take away from the game.

but everyone here knows that the BLUE BOMBERS are the best team in the CFL by far....................like em so much even bought season tickets.

Bombers rock, Kevin I agree. I own THREE Bombers jerseys and they aren't even my favorite team, LOL!! Milt (Turtle) is just a gamer.
But does all the really matter when the best defence in the LEAGUE just SWARMED the BC backfield while Smilin' Hank promptly throws for 350+ yards and FOUR touchdowns? When the Deadmonton Eskimos lose and the Taylor Field hopeful win all in the same day, you know all is right with the world.

Moncton and halifax are fighting over a team. Moncton is a growing city but I think if a team was going to survive it would have to be in Halifax. If it did go to Moncton I would try to make it to a few games for sure! I think now a days I would sooner go to a CFL game then an NHL game. Who's got that kinda money?
Cheers,

ya CFL games are so cheap. I remember 1 edmonton/calgary semi final game i got my tickets for 5 bucks a piece off a scalper. It was snowing in calgary and I guess the stamps fans knew they didnt have a chance:)

Ha ha stupid Stamps fans.....
Ottawa's really owning it hard this year... pretty good for their... 3rd year now? Very good game last night versus edmonton, some nice plays and passes...
Go renegades!
(I wish we were still the rough riders though, I like the name more :))

Kerry Joseph is the entire reason. THat and special teams coverage. If they get a true sack specialist (Elfrid Payton maybe??), they could have a championship team.

Elfrid Payton is now on Winnipeg

Hamilton is just on FIYAH!

Fatty Mac could have a wonderful swan song this year. And they got Montford and Cheatwood on the ends so you KNOW the D-line is going to bring it every game.
Bummers got SWAC? That sucks. But I guess Elfrid ending up on an 0-3 team is pretty funny. Heh heh buh-bye Ritchie. Maybe Dunigan can have his job when he gets fired from Calgree as well?
Hee hee.................:D

Exciting game today, I expected a blow-out after the first quarter but congrats to Calgary on that come-back, I was ALMOST dissapointed to see Calgary lose after that more than impressive comeback. Danny Mac sure seemed to fall back to earth after the first quarter, I wonder what happened...

I think Call-gree's defence just woke up. They were playing zone defence the whole game and Fatty Mac just picked them apart. Have vets like Macaroni Mike helped as well. He finds holes. No question.
Poor poor Stamps. I feel bad for Dunigan, but I never liked Crandell anyways.
Invictus

Crandell had one good season with us, but I knew he'd be a flash in the pan. Granted, today's comeback left the Ticats shaking their heads going "WTF?!?!?!?!"
Jeff_Favelle
07-05-04, 12:13 AM
The downfall of the Stamps the last 4 years is when they gave Crandell a new contract after the 2001 Grey Cup that they won. It ended their search for a starting quarterback because they mistakingly thought they had one. They could have a Kerry Joseph or a Ricky Ray or a Marcus Brady playing for them right now.

Well week 3 is over now, and I'm glad to see the East is still undefeated versus the West..
Week 4 is coming up soon, feel free to put you predictions for the week in here.
I'm Going with:
Saskatchewan 30 - Winnipeg 13
Ottawa 36 - Montreal 33
Edmonton 23 - B.C. 28
Toronto 28 - Hamilton 23

Hamilton is going to KILL the Argos. Allen is the Argos' ONLY chance to win. Micheal Bishop CANNOT play quarterback in the CFL. He'd do better as a running back. I would say that Bishop will throw no less than 4 interceptions.
Rider are in TOUGH against the Bummers. 0-4 in the 'Peg and heads will roll. Still gotta pull for my team though. I say 26-23 is the final for the Green and White.
BC score looks great (and I will BE AT THAT GAME - woo hoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
Montreal will end Ottawa's surprise run, but not by much.

07-06-04, 08:50 PM
I agree that the Argos really dont have much of a chance against Hamilton, but I can't give up hope on them just yet...
And I sure hope the Riders win, I for some reason just can't stand the Bombers :p
I think that this is Ottawa's year, the allouettes have had their time to shine, It will be a close game, but the 'Gades will come out on top this time....I hope!

Kerry Joseph is the MAN!!!!!!!!

07-12-04, 12:08 AM
Well I went 2-2, but was I ever off on the scores! There really wasn't any close games this week, which is a bit dissapointing, but hey the Argos won, so I can't complain :D
I really hated to see the Alouttes win, even though they outplayed the 'Gades, I sure would love to see the Als lose for a change.
But how was the Lions game? There didn't seem to be too many people out, any idea on the attendance for that game? Hope you had fun, although its pretty hard not to have fun at a cfl game, even if it is being played indoors....
Jeff_Favelle
07-12-04, 12:52 AM
Man, you did better than I did bro! The Lions game SUCKED, but at least we got hammered at the Cactus Club afterwards. Attendance was 23,000. Kinda crappy seeing as my last game there was 29,500. But what can you expect from the worst sports city in Canada (North America?) and two teams that suck (BC without Dickenson) and a very very hot Friday evening.
The week coming is going to be sweeet though. Gotta get my Sports Action tickets on Wednesday! Woo-hoo!

O yah bombers are only 1-2.............they had a bye in week 3...................................the bomber game was horrible.................well the conditions were.......who knew it could rain for a whole game?
Jeff_Favelle
07-14-04, 03:26 AM
Only in Winterpeg eh Kevin? I think the addition of SWAC (Payton) is going to vault the Bombers into 2nd place in the west (right behing my Roughriders, of course).
:D
