Here in this picture, I have circled the large subtympanal scales that help identify the Green Iguana,Iguana iguana. Another closely related iguana, the Lesser Antillean Iguana, Iguana delicatissima, does not have these large scales. As young, they look almost identical except for this one scale. As adults, they lack the tail banding that the Green Iggy has and take on more of a rock iguana appearance. Hope this helps a tad bit. :)

It was the second picture that made me ask the question but I can see the subtympanal scale on that one too.
I'm not used to seeing wee young ones and with the bright turquoise color splashes it threw me off even more.
They sure are cute!
