I'm new to this site and just thought I'd introduce myself and my little gals. I've been using American forums for almost a year, and just came across this one a couple of months ago. It's so nice to see that there are so many Canadian herpers. I was beginning to think I was crazy, no one I know owns any reptiles. Right now I am living in Lethbridge AB for school, but I'm from Calgary.

I have three leopard geckos, a pacman, three mutts, a bird, and numerous bettas cluttering up my little house. I have also had a res, a cat, a rabbit, tree frogs and more. My leos are about four months old, and are all from Tarzets. I'm not sure if Teresa reads this forum, if she does, they are doing amazing, thanks again. It has been so neat watching them grow and change. Anyways enough about me, sorry.

Also, if anyone knows of a good insect supplier in or around Lethbridge or Calgary that would be awesome. I was getting my bugs from Canadian feeders (which was great), but with only four little ones to feed the shipping costs just were not worth it.

Thanks Gregg and Matt. Matt, unfortunately Red Deer is a bit too far for me to get my feeders and I really don't want to have to deal with shipping. It is a good price on the supers though. My little ones are just a bit too small to eat them yet.

Thanks Klein, I'm going to take some new pictures in a few days. There is more carrot coloring on the hypos tail every week. They are so fun to watch.

If you go to the taras shows WALTER is there and you can get small supers for $30 to the thousand. Look at it this way supers have a beter nutritional value then mealies when gut loaded you can keep them for as long as a year without them putpating (mabey longer) and the small ones are about the size you would get at the pet stores. I find them alot more convenient than mealies and one large super is the equivilent to about 8-10 large mealies. Also I have a leo than I am keeping away from the males 'cause shes about the same size as yours and she can take a super sometimes even two. (BTW I think that yours are a little older than four months probably about 6-8 months because mine is about the same size but she is smaller than average because of the bloodline she is from. To pout it in perspective she will be about 6-7 inches when fully grown. Anyway im rambling on so I think im finished :D
Matt
PS I dont know of any other places to get feeders where you wouldnt have to ship so its either petstore (little *******) lol WALTER or shipping from like toronto.

The TARAS show is in September right? I definately want to make my way up to Calgary for that. I want a crested gecko so bad. By that time my little gals should be big enough to eat supers, but your right they probably could down them now. I just can't stand how supers are such good escape artists. Plus, their little nips are another downside.

I'm pretty sure my leos are all about four months old. I got them when they looked almost like hatchlings (they were about one month old). Here is a picture of my leos after I had them for about two weeks (about the first-second week of May). Unless these little gals were 3-4 months old in this picture, they are definately only about 4 months now. They've just grown like weeds.

Thanks again,
Lisa

Wow that pic turned out terrible. Here is a pic of my blizzard the first night I got them (the last week of April). She was about one month old. She was also the biggest, and still is. Hopefully this one will show better how much they've grown in the last few months.
