I just bought a female beardie and have placed her on a shelf below my male. Last night he started digging down in his sand, and under his rock. Is this normal behaviour? can he smell her?
is he seeking moisture? let me know thamks.

lol, he smells her if your feeding him proper amounts of veggies he should have no need to search for moisture

be careful that he has nothing to dig under, because i bought a beautiful female at one of the last shows and within 3 weeks she burried herself under the wood perch with a slate bottom i had in my tank. Just make sure everything is right to the bottom of your tank under the sand. It was a very sad loss for me. :(
