Hey
Is it o.k to make orchids in your dart frogs enclosure??? Would it be a bad idea??? could the plant take it in that type of envirorment???Im using about a 25-30 gallon tank. Also is there sites on dart frog plants

orchids need natural filtered light, and certin orchids love humidty like phalenopsis which is readily avaliable they are not posinous so they wouldent harm your frogs the phalenopsis is probably your best bet for that enviroment just remember the natural light

Reptiles magazine had a GREAT article on building Dart Frog vivariums.
It's the issue from this past winter that has the Uroplatus gecko on the cover.
It covers orchids and bromeliads as well as other additions :)

Tillandsia would be a better choice. Orchids are touchy, and you'll likely only be looking at leaves after the blooms fall off. It can be tough to get them to reflower.
If you end up with just leaves might as well look at interesting ones... ie.. Tillandsia. But they still need light and high humidity but are often sold as "air plants" and are a bit less demanding.

orchids would be great in a dart frog virarium and the natural light thing i find to be not true you can use artificial lighting to and the thing about all youll be seeing is leaves all the time well that is kinda true in some ways except if orchids are kept in the proper conditions they will have a very long bloom there known for that most of mine will last 3 months in bloom. one problem you will run into is the tank will mostlikely be to short and the flower spike will hit the roof
