question about new baby

I am very new to owning snakes and was wondering about my new okeetee. I've only had him for four days and he's extremely shy.....so much so that he won't even go out of his hide to explore, at least I've not seen him do so. Very different from my blizzard who comes out pretty much every night.

My okee has eaten once and seems okay otherwise..... Is it normal for him to be so reclusive? I'm sure it is but just inquiring.

sure. baby snakes can be very shy compared to adults of the same species. think of it this way: such a tiny animal has so many predators, it is reasonable for it to spend most of its time hiding. so long as you are sure it is eating and digesting normally i would not be worried. also make sure his enclosure is heated properly and that he can hide on either side to maintain proper temperature.
