WOW! Incredible, sharp coloration on that guy. He doesn't look to be too big yet - still a youngster?? Very fit looking! Nice snake,

Mary, he's adult and around 50". My photography needs a little help lately, I guess:)
I also have some smaller females and a much larger (66")male.
Remember the pic I posted of the 2 breeding? Well that little girl laid 7 nice looking eggs on 6/07, so I'm pleased with that.
I am not 100% sure of her locality though, but think she can be traced to SC lines.
You can be sure I'll post baby pics.

Amazing white on that guy! What colour does the black favour? What I mean is, does the black on him have that purplish tint to it? Mine is very purple/burgundy at times in the right light, just wondering if that is true of all easterns.

MK, he's not very "purplish" but right after a shed, as here, and in the right light, there are hints of irridescence. Some easterns are very brown as well and are quite variable. You might want to check out Keith's site, The Eastern Kingsnake resource site. There are 2 of my snakes there as well as this one, when he belonged to the original owner.
How long have you had yours? What locality?

I bought mine in a Toronto area pet shop 3 or 4 years ago at least, as an adult, so I have absolutely no idea about locality.
He was our second "pet" snake (you know, just before it becomes a life swallowing obsession) and I didn't have the knowledge to ask questions like that at the time. Not that it would have been available from that store, they had him labeled a Cal King. lol!
As I said though, mine has a real purple tint to him. I don't know if that helps identify it all, especially if they are very variable.
Very nice animal~~
I love the patterns on this one~
Great looking chain Mark!!! Really smart!!

VERY nice Mark! I think I will try and find another Eastern Chain King this year, but one with a better attitude! LOL How is the other one you got from me doing? Find out any info on it?

David,
I never found more info on that guy. He has calmed down considerably and fathered a clutch of 7 for me so far. I have another female for him but she hadn't left the quarantine in time for breeding.

David you'll be the first to know. Should be in the middle of July.
I hope they take after their dad's build!
