look for HUGE nuts
Boys have testicles, girls have none. Fairly straighforward.
yup thats what i thought.....but they have them even if they're really young? ...just making sure, cuz i think these are fairly young...thanks again
If little baby boys are boys, they have to store their 'juice' somewhere....

Well the other way to tell is on boys the ***** is further from the anus than females. Far apart male...close together female. Hope this helps. by the way when you get good at telling the difference you will be able to tell on day olds. Good luck and have fun....Jamie/Blueeheeler
thanks everyone, thats all i wanted to know. :)

you may not be able to tell on young male mice because they haven't "dropped" yet (if they are like rats) or if they are scared/nervous....

None of my mice have huge packages. As Jamie suggested, the best way of sexing them is by the distance between their parts. Males will be signifcantly further. This can be done at almost all stages of life, but of course in really young babies it can be more difficult.
do not hold them by the tales to sex them. said package slips in and can result in a mistaken sexing

The distance between the genitals and the anus is definately a lot more on the males. When they are young, you can see nipples on the females.

ok guys, now i have a POSITIVE id on em, but heres another question, im down to 3 mice now, 1 bigger male and two smaller ones (1M, 1F) but they look like theyre from tha same batch. I def want to breed them, what do you suggest? i was gonna feed the sibling male and keep the larger male to breed with the sm female....Y/N?
BTW, thanks for all your insight on the sexing

They can be sick and or deformed if you interbreed. I would keep the larger male and go get a female from another breeder or pet store, then you can be pretty sure they are not related. I would just feed them all to your snake and keep the large male. Just my advice though.
cool, will do...im sure the bigger one isnt related, but ill do it just to be sure.
thanks

"Inbreeding" or "line-breeding" doesn't always develop deformities. I have seen several "pet" breeders breeding brother to sister regularly with no problems. I wouldn't suggest breeding the offspring to each other, but the first generation sibling breeding isn't too much of a problem.

It does take experience to judge the distance between the "liquid excritory device"(male or female) and the anus. Since I breed mice, I can now sex fuzzies with 100 percent accuracy(I have had 1 mistake in the past while and I have sexed about 500 mice). Its not an easy thing for the begginer. When you pick males up, their "creation spheres" drop into their body, but the sack that holds them is still a little visible. Also, the females will have a hole in which the what looks like a male "liquid excritory device" resides, while the males "liquid excritory device" will be sticking out there. LOL. Good luck!

How is that 100 %? Just kidding, not bad for 500 mice. Did you mistake a he for she or she for he?

To sex my rodents(mice, spinies, gerbils, ect.) I hold them upside down by the tail then push their stomache just a little. Just enough to see if they show. If its a male they will show.

Just thought of something... I've had a few mice that were hermaphrodites.... With BOTH testicles and nipples! THOSE were fun to sex when they got older... LOL!
