ive been reading a lot of stuff about carpet pythons, and one thing has been confusing me. are they arboreal or terrestrial? cause its about 50/50 of what ive read. i personally thought there were arboreal, and would need a high cage for climbing, but some things ive read said that an enclosure 36L x 18W x 12H. would that enslosure be big enough for an adult? thanks

I believe both height and length are good for them. They do enjoy climbing quite a bit but do spend some time on the groud. As long as there are some branches off the ground they should be fine.

I have come to the conclusion (in my head, lol) that at least some of the species (ie: Jungle carpets) are semi-arboreal. If you give them a branch, they will use it. If you don't give them a branch, they will not stress out over it. It's all in a personal preference as to how you want to set up its enclosure. That's my opinion, anyway.

ok thanks. so would a 42.7L x 21.4D x 18H rubbermaid be good for an adult jungle carpet?

I would guess so. I just have a dowel across my enclosures as well as a pothos plant and diagonal bamboo piece. They are all over them EVERY night.

I definitely think that they will climb if available.
