What do you guys have for the substrate in your geckos homes?? Right now I don't have anything, but I want to have something like kinda a nice wood forest look. I have some nice plants in there and I want to have the substrate to kinda hide the container (one of those big bulk empty butter things) they are in. I was actually thinking of something like potting soil. I also want to breed them so it'll work as kinda a place for her to lay her eggs.

um, i wouldnt use potting soild, it usually has other things mixed with it, but organic soil mixed with a bit of sand so it doesnt get hard and lumpy, bed a beast, pretty much anything that does not have big chunks that they could swallow and harm themselves. And i would waight until they were at least 8 months, good luck i love cresties!!

They are both about 1.5 - 2 years old. I think I might go with the bed a beast stuff. And I don't have to worry about them eating it while chasing crickets, if they get crickets it's in a different cage.

I use jungle earth in my breeding tank and paper towel with juvies and hatchlings. When its time to lay eggs my female uses the potted plant (potting soil) thats in her cage.
