aww the beardies are cute! are the insects a type of mantis? (i have no intelligence when it comes to insects)

Sketchy4, the Phyllium celebicum are Leaf Bugs. Phyllium celebicum are one of the few leaf bugs that can actually fly.

Wow, I love the BD's. I have an older BD, got him when he was 5 months so he was never that small. They are just so cute.

Hi Alex, what is the life expectancy of a healthy Leaf Bug? Like how long is their lifespan & how much of it would they be reproductive adults? Hopefully a while for that price LOL Is breeding fairly straightforward? Interesting "bugs" anyhow, Mark

gonasnakee, the life expectansy of Phyllium celebicum is 7-12 month. They are farely easy to breed, as long as they have food all of the time, wright temperature, and humidity. If all is wright, the females will reach maturity after 6 instars (5 moltings), males after 5th instar.

They look very interesting, something I might fancy to have, but the price tag kinda scares me!

Jungle Jen, don't worry when they gona breed i'm gona be selling each females for $14.00 and each male $16.00 (males in this specie are rare)

It's amazing how much Beardies grow. I got mine when he was that big, and looking at him now, it's hard to believe they start off that small.

What do Leaf Bugs eat...? And roughly how many offspring does an average pair produce...? They look very cool anyways...

Will, The main food is Bramble for most Stick/ Leaf Bugs. Phyllium celebicum eat Bramble, Mango, Oak, and Guava leaf. Each female will lay about 150 eggs in its life time. The way it works is.., if you have a male and a female leaf bug, only the female will lay eggs and when they hatch aproximatly 50% will be females and 50% males. If you have Phyllium celebicum only females, they will still lay eggs but only clone them selves and not produce any males. Leaf bugs are the best after snakes and lizards.
