GOLIATH - GUYANA REDTAIL BOA
EVERYONE:
Well this is Goliath one of my Guyana Redtail Boas I bought back on September 1, 2001 at my 1st Calgary Show. I believe it was a WC boa and the best of the group for sale at the time. He grew nicely over the years and is at 6 plus feet eating frozen thawed large rats and sometimes small bunnies when I can get them. Of all my boas, Goliath loves his soaks, 40% of the time always swimming in his tub right after a meal. I think he just likes washing up after a nice rat meal, and does it every time. Only my Surinams do this sometimes but Goliath does it as much if not more. He was used in a breeding project but his bigger bruts matted before he could try.
Now the sad part which has a happy ending is that Goliath has been sold and is going to a great home. It is always hard for me to let go of any boid in my collection but we feel the new owner will be doing the best care possible for him and using him in there breeding projects. Although we are sadden about letting Goliath go.
Here he is as a few months old boa right after the show.

Here he plays peek-a-boo, with me, loves to hide in his hide or under the radient heat panel.
