The growth rate of these guys are absolutely staggering to me. This girl below weighed in yesterday at 428g - and she's not even ONE year old yet...

She has passed 4 of 5 of my '02 Calis in size and they've got a full year headstart on her. She'll pass the other '02 female Cal, and more than likely my 3 year old male Cal within 10-12 weeks or so. Her sister is just under 400g, and her brother is a "measly" 350g. Their growth rate has blown me away - they were taking adult mice before they were 6 months old. They never turn down a meal unless in shed, and in fact often eat what the Calis turn down.

My other pair of Hondos, who aren't related to this trio are closer to what I would deem 'normal' - roughly 75-100g. But these three seem to have monster genes in them or something. I mentioned this to MarcB, whom I got these from, and he non-chalantly replied "Ya, that doesn't surprise me. Their Mom is 7', Dad is 6+".

These 3 will be able to breed for me next year which is a year earlier than I expected when I got them. All three are Het-Anery 66% Het-Albino. I can't wait to see how these guys' turn out size-wise, and what kind of babies will come out... 7' Snows maybe...? :D

Looking fantastic Will. I have one pair of yearlings and one I bred last year that are like that - don't know weights on them but they are just huge and eat like pigs - adult mice and hopper rats. Two others, one from my own clutch last year and one I bought, are taking much smaller meals and are half the size.

Nice to see more photos of your hondos - definately interested to see what you get next year!

Way to go! :)

But I've got to ask... What's wrong with your cal kings? Leftovers? lol :D

A seven foot Snow honduran would indeed be spectacular.

Your trio is looking good Will, you will see a white flash pipping sooner then you think eh!

Thanks for sharing...

Unfortunately, I have the opposite experience with my Hondo. I got him and a striped Cali King at the same show last year. When I got them, the Cali was 3" shorter. Now she's 1"+ compared to him and outweighs him by more than 30 grams. I've always had problems with him feeding consistantly though, where she would eat anything in front of her. I've had to move him down in prey size so he would eat more often .

P.S.- Can't wait to see a 7' snow!!!!
