View Full Version : Sobek 6ft 2 inches 2.5 years old...
I havent measured her in a while but last night I got the chance, shes 32.5 inches STV length, and 41.5 inches tail length. I hope shes soon done shedding, pretty new skin shes showing all white background with bluish gray pattern. All the brown is now skin waiting to fall off, so far. Who knows when she will stop growing, for now shes still a bit young, still growing.

have you been taking sobek outside since she was a young or just when she was big because I have foiund that young monitors flip out when outside...
How did u get sobek to be so calm outside?>
is she jus naturally calm because she is so big?
My albigs are about the same size as Sobek. I can take them all outdoors, they usually just climb a log and bask without worry.. Very laid back actually... Nice pics and nice monitor SHvar!
I remember seeing pics of other monitors you have but not the albigs. Im gonna get some new pics soon, hopefully shes done shedding soon, shes got all new colors.
She was afraid of the usual things airplanes, large birds, neighbors, their mowers, etc, but now she knows they are of no threat to her. I take her out from 40f on up to as hot as it gets as often as I can (almost daily). She still does get scared of a few things and she is fast!! Ive stopped her a few times in mid lunge from catching a wild rabbit.

SHvar, i've got a few photos in my gallery. I havent been able to take to many photos outdoors due to the fact that my current yard isnt fenced in. I'll be taking more photos shortly, I kind of forget to take photos :P I mean to, and never do....

SHvar well my 10 month old 31" FEMALE sav (big eh ;) gets way to freaked when i take her out she will ussually crap everywhere if i dont take her back inside and if she is on the ground will bolt anywhere and since she doesnt have her adult bulk and is still slender she still tries to squeeze into any crevice within rocks.
My water monitor is still a bit small to but i predict when she is sobeks size she will be awesome to take outside. :)

Sobek is a female? She looks a lot like my Daisy. Very nice pics. I would love to take her out once in awhile.
Yes Sobek is 110% female. She cycled 2 times that I knew of (possibly 3 times), the second time she became eggbound and required surgery. She may have cycled her first time and I didnt know at 6-7 months old, at a year old I recognized it afterwards. I still have some of her eggs in a large glass jar in alcohol.
