A lavender by lavender will produce all lavenders. Not sure why this would be a problem - is frequently done by those people who breed lavender corns.

Lavender by snow will give all normals in the first generation - they will all be het for amel, anery A and lavender. The next generation (breeding those babies among themselves) will give a real assortment including normals, lavender, snow, anery, amel and the combination morphs which includes a very low probability of lavender combined with amel (opal), as well as combined with anery (look like anerys) and combined with snow (I believe these look like opals - Simon may post and would know for sure - he has quite a few lavenders).

Mary,

To be honest, you have to stop giving credit to me. You know your genetics too. So be confident and tell people that. You are a lot better than you think~

All the answers that you gave out were correct.

So basically
Lav x Lav would lead to Lav babies (unless of course they are het for something....then something else would come out from the lavender batch~~)

As for Snow x Lav, you're alright right on that. Assuming both are not het for anything. You'll get normal het amel, anery a, and lavender. Breeding those back together will get normal poss hets, lavs, opals, snows, amel, anery, anery lav (anery looking), snow lavs (snow looking) So you're all right~!!

Now I think that I understand why Dendav asked if it is not good to breed lav with lav.
The reason for this is because Lavenders basically came from one line. That is from Rich Zuchowski's line. No one else had these before him. He was the creator of this line. So basically all the Lavenders are in someway 'brothers and sisters' of each other. Just depends on how divert the bloodline went. But if you think about it...they're all from the bloodline. So if they're from the same bloodline, some might think that inbreeding is not good. Thus breeding lav x lav is not good. I guess this is what Dendav is referring to....

Tim,

LOL....hey~~
you too! You know your genetics too~~
If I remember correctly your web site has some explaining of corn genetics~~
so you're considered as 'Corn people' too~~

LOL

Cheers all!
