It has a very aboreal set up..and that was the only time i saw it on the floor when i took the pic...
hydrosaurus aka sailfin. Thats a hydrosaurus webri i believe. A friend of mine has a large colony in the works. INCREDIBLE lizards, extremely stunning as adults. Males get large fins (where the name comes from) They look like dinosaurs. Oddly enough hes approached reptillia to purchase that one, and they wanted to work with him to breed it. (hes one of the few people in ontario, and probably canada with well established adults)
Extremely difficult to acclimate as juvi's. If you ever decide to purchase one PM me and i would be happy to help you out. They require very fresh water (almost bottled/spring water) as juvis. They have many unexpected deaths due to poor diet and our bad water source. They are ominivorus, and can become very tame. also extremely territorial, and very aboreal.

Thanks for that...i know you can always pull through on the big lizards lol
I wasnt really thinking of getting one unless they were easily available, but they seem to be hard to keep. Who knows, maybe in a couple years or something...but deffinetly not for now.
Thanks again
very cool looking, Ive never heard of/ seen any of those before.
V.hb, How big do they get?
They're awesome lizards, and they do get big :P
If you ever decide ya want one, like i said i'll be glad to help you out. They're great lizards and IMO have one of the best personalities out there.
Jeff, they get about 4 feet on average although I 'am pretty sure they can get bigger than that.

Webris gets roughly 4 feet, from what I was told. These guys are from the Moluccan Islands/ Indo-Pacific, unlike their cousins the common sailfins which are from Asia and are abundant in India.
edit* haha I was to slow to answer : (

the one they have is about 8 feet high, 2 feet deep and 5 feet wide..it takes up a large portion of the wall..and theirs only one in their! Theirs a giant pool on the floor, with lots of high branches...very nice! Ill try and get a pic some time soon
They need LARGE enclosures.. Something like bartman described, large water dish too.
