has anyone here ever dealt with this species? feel a bit stupid cos its indigenous to my area but thought i would see if any of you guys have ever dealt with one. it apparently also rolls into a ball, so is it a cousin to the ball python?

Python anchietae is commonly called the Angolan Python, and yes, they are still fairly rare in captivity and expensive but easy to breed and several US breeders are producing them, and more and more are available every year.
They are close relatives to Ball Pythons and captive husbandry is similar.
Their rarity has much to do with lack of wild exports , war and political problems in their native land. They also have fairly small clutches like Ball Pythons, therefore there aren't many babies to go around, for those that can afford them.

Not to sure, they are beautiful, but I don't really like the whole beady look. lol
