that's great Brian... This will be my 3 rd year for conicus.
My big girl has had 6 babies two years in a row, but each year she has dumped about 4 slugs...
She is huge again this year, and it would be nice to see 10 babies instead of 6 and a pile of wax balls...
My second smaller female also produced 6 babies last year for her first time. There were no slugs
I have never had any still borns with conicus, but have with loveridgei
Also worthy of note is sand boas eat slugs and possibly still borns... I have a photo somewhere of my big 34 inch Kenyan wolfing down a slug.
Given their tendancy to eat them, I imagine it might be hard to know exactly how many slugs you get, unless you're present to observe the entire birthing.

Thanks for your input Roy.

I dont think there where any slugs at all as some of the little ones still had a soft bellystring attached as i took them out.

I´m still waiting for 4 loveridgei to pop. and the biggest had 22 babies last year and she just look HUGE now. We will se what pops out. Will post later when she has droped.
Also waiting for a litter of Eryx jaculus jaculus.

Would like to see your photo of the loveridgei eating the slug.

Regards

Brian

34 INCH KENYAN! THATS MASSIVE ROY! How much does she weigh?! She must be three pounds? Do you have any pictures of her?

Brian, I will look for that photo... I'm not even sure its digital, but I'll look for it.
Chris, yes I have some old snakes... You'll find a pic of her in my gallery... She came to me from Tom Huff in 1986 and is gravid again this year.
I'm starting to lose track but I think this will be her 15th litter this year. She's produced over 200 babies

Brian, it's late and I'm half asleep, but my conicus just gave birth a few minutes ago... looks like I got my wish.. 10 pups no slugs, no stills
they're all gooey still and she was still contracting when I snapped this pic
