Live or Dead..

I keep hearing that feeding your GTP thawed frozen rodents is the way to go.. but I was talking to a biologist who specializes in snakes this weekend and he said that with a snake as sedetary (sp?) as GTPs, giving it a little bit of stimulation with the live food kill helps it stay healthy and not get too lethargic....

Makes sence but I dont know.. i feed live anyways, although I feel kinda bad killing a mouse :(

I don't know what GTP's that biologist is working with but my GTP is anything but lethargic. Normally about 10-15 nights out of a month he can be found cruising his enclosure.

The few calories burned and muscles excercized in constricting live prey don't make the slightest difference in your animal's health. GTP are likely to lunge and constrict prekilled prey anyway, just not hold the constriction for as long.

I'm not sure mine have recieved that memo...........They hit harder than the Hog's! (been feeding frozen thawed since they were a couple months old).
