how to candle?

What do i do to try and candle my leopard geck egg? Ive never done it before and have heard about it many times..

So im supposed to look for a red vain? What are signs that show if its dead or infertile, just if the vain isnt their?

Also what do i use, a flash light or something? Do i have to take the egg out or can i just do it in the incubator?

You can use a small flashlight that would work just fine, I find it helps if the room is alittle darker.

As for what you are looking for.....well if the egg is good you will see the start of the embrio(sp?) aswell as it will give off a pink hugh. If its no good then you wont see anything or if you do it will just be dark.
