Its a great looking tank, but imo its not adequate for a ball python. Their a heavy bodied snake meaning their much more terrestrial, therefore floor space is much more important then the height. That would make a great tank for a more aboreal snake imo.
Anyone else concur?

How much floor space would be good in your opinion? I am at nierly 2 1/2 foot by 1 foot. My BP is only 17 inches right now, I know he will get larger but for now I think this would be ok.

BTW, it is not ment to house him for life...

The dimensions of that enclosure are more than adequate for quite a while, but when your bp approaches adulthood, he should me moved to an enclosure that is maybe a .5-1.5 foot longer, and maybe .5 foot wider. Also the height is not necessary, though bp's will climb if given the implements, floor space is much more necessary. Good work though.

Thanks, I have caught a little hell on the size of the tank but I will keep him in it until he needs something bigger. I think that I will set this up as a kindof rain forest scene when he outgrows it and needs to be moved. I have plans for when he needs to be moved also but I will wait till that day comes...

You'll have a long wait. That tank looks good for a long while, assuming you decorate it properly and pay close attention to the husbandry requirments. It may be difficult to maintain proper heat gradient for thermoregulation, but good luck.
