can some one post a pic of what a regular Bearded Dragon looks like?also for my baby beardie i am gonna start him off in a 10 gallon-if i have the UVB light on top of the cage will there be enough room for the basking bulb?also how long would a bay beardie be able to stay in a 20 g?how long could it stay in a 10 g?

Meet Spunky

He is my normal beardy, my only beardy and he rocks. Got him at the expo yesterday, i dont no his hatch date but hes already been eating, drinking, survived the night without the lamp on and is basking again.

To me, all good signs.

Got him from iculizard, think highly of them, nice caresheet and other info, good website and overall good feeling.

Sounds like they're great! I had a beardy before and i bet he'd last in a 10 gallon for a month tops..the 20 gallon, for about 3 months...you'll be very surprised how quickly these guys grow!

my guys in a 10-15 gallon tank,

is it alright to go from a 10-15 to an adult sized 60galonish tank?

Would be easyer then havng to get a mid sized.

Some people say no because they get scared when theirs to much open space...they'd rather feel secure. I could be wrong...

A big enclosure should be OK. Just be sure to give them a basking spot around 110-120 F...and places to hide if they want.

The big tank may be a problem for feeding so you might want to feed him in a smaller enclosure to make sure that he is eating all of his food.

yes, thats fine. Ive never had any problems doing that. Using even larger tanks, actually.

Mike, 120 is a bit hot dont you think? my adults have around 100-105. A baby would likely roast under 120, dont you think? Ive never really measured my hatchlings basking spots, but I assume theyre about 90-105 range.

Ya, that may be on the hot end of the scale but babies need higher temps than adults because they don't absorb and keep heat as efficiently as adults.

I've heard that a 105 basking spot is the very minimum you would want for hatchings.

I'm no expert on the subject but I 'm sure I've read that they are quite fine at 120. Of course, as with all reptiles, it's important to give them a gradient.

Ahh I see.. Maybe i'll try that with my next batch.. Just need to watch them closely, seems hot to me.. Thanks
