Anyone know if ants(black if it makes a difference) are an ok staple for veiled chams? or as a treat?

Ants can be dangerous to some reptiles, like crested geckos. I'm not too sure about chameleons, but you'd sure need a lot anyway :)

I wouldn't suggest ants but thast just me. As for being a staple well its always good to give a bunch of diff insects (wax worms, butters, meals, crickets).
Even if ants were ok(depending on if you collected them yourself and were they came from) Veilds eat alot of food so you would spend more time hunting then you would like .

Ants are only good food for animals who evolved to eat them. At least some, if not all species of ants have varying amounts of formic acid which is bitter and works as a defence against most predators. Chams don't eat ants at all. Also, as has been stated already, ants bite and become house pests, so it's not worth it even if the chams did eat them.
