Hi all.

I'd like to compare how you guys feed baby corn from the day they are born to the age of about 6 months.

Im asking this question to make an average of how much it costs to raise corns to 6 months. I'm writting a document and I'd like to add this bit of information in it to give an idea to new owner on what they'll need to plan for the first months.

Here's how I feed my babies, please tell me how you go about 'till week 24.

This post is not intended to find the right and wrong ways, please keep comment for other posts even if you find someone is over or under feeding is babies. :) It's only data I'm looking for here and I'd like people to be honest so that the data is accurate.

Week 1 to 6: pinky every 7 days
Week 7 to 12: fuzzy every 7 days
Week 13 to 16: fuzzy + pinky every 7 days
Week 17 to 20: 2 fuzzies every 7 days
Week 21 to 24: 1 hopper every 7 days

thanks

WYZ

I feed 1 pinkie every 5 days from hatching. I feed them 20 pinkies then I move up to fuzzies. I feed 1 fuzzie every 5 days until they eat 20 fuzzies. Then I switch to fuzzie rats and keep them there for about 40 meals then crawlers rats for the remaider of their lives. After 1 year I feed every 7 days.
Cheers,
Trevor

No, it's not too much... not at all. Why would you even comment anyway, you're not even keeping your ONE corn properly. If yours won't diget properly, it's because you aren't giving it any heat!

WYZ, here's some of my data...

Pinkies: 8-12 meals = 6-8 weeks
Fuzzies: 8-12 meals, then double up = 8-12 weeks
Hoppers: 10-15 meals, double up = 6-8 weeks

That's a rough estimate and I don't follow any type of plan. That's just how it went last year for the few I kept. :)

On average our corns get fed every 5-7 days until a year old, good feeders get:

8 pinky mice (1-2 per meal) until second shed (6 weeks),
8-12 fuzzy mice (1-2 per meal) til two more sheds (6 weeks),
8-12 hopper mice til two more sheds (6-10 weeks),
small adult mice or equal size rats weekly til 6 months of age.

i feed mine 1 (very small)fuzzy and 1 pinky every 7-8 days. soon, once i get some real-sized fuzzies, it will be one fuzzy every week for a few weeks, and then move up to two. then, after about a year a so i will put her on adult mice.
