i was holding my sons ball python the other day and it pissed and craped on me. was this some kind of defense reaction or just a snake accident?

I had one female ball whom every time I picked up for the first three months would force out a pee, hence her name "Squirt". I think it is a defense mechanism to get them put down, or REALLY bad luck on my part which I doubt.

I too have one female who is LTC for over a year with me but who still forces out a pee everytime I pick her up. I've never been pooped on, though.

That's the thing... I don't think it would poo on you in defence... who knows? :p

Hera did this when we had to give her medicine, it was a stress thing as far as I can tell. We had to get her mouth open and get a syringe of medicine in there I'm sure she was scared, striking at everything and urinated and deficated too. Thus the term scared sh*tless.
