Who uses wheat bran?

Well we finally picked up our first bearded dragon. No pics yet but soon. He is on news paper for now but I am still undecided on the substrate that I will use later. I wanted to get actual testimonials from people that are using or have used wheat bran. And drewlowe I know I will hear from you.

Yay, congrats! I can't wait to see some pics! Mine is only a baby, so I have been using shelf liner (I like it very much). I am undecided as to what I will do when he is older. I was going to use sand but am not sure if that's what I want to do now.

LOVE IT.

The only negative thing I have to say about it, is: it's mold's easily. So if water spills, or it somehow gets moist, it will mold....fast. This was a prob for me seeing how my dragons drink from water bowls. I solved it by partitioning the tank, and the water/feeding area is seperate.

LOL Glenn, You already know how i feel about it, so there isn't much to say. I love this stuff, it has minor downsides but are easily fixed when you know how ie, mold and "stowaways". Nothing wrong with a little extra fiber. LOL

Never tried it, only thing I use the bran for is the wax worm collonies
