I've seen lots of opinions on various food sources around but am not convinced on some accounts. Can't take one persons opinion for gospel I guess.
Let's try to get as many opinions as possible.
My situation is this: mid-aged dragon getting better after being sick. Want to diversify food source as much as possible.
What are approved food sources adv/dis?

Well, silkworms and butterworms are EXCELLENT choices. In fact, I am working my way towards silkworms only, via raising my own from eggs, as well as breeding my own ( have to still buy eggs untill I can meet supply and demand) . I offer well gutloaded crickets as a treat and to give them( dragons ) exercise.
Superworms are also fairly good, but harder to digest. I just recently had a rude awakening with those. One in a while I let my dragons have a pig out. Meaning, they are offered ALOT of feeders. Last pig out was supers. All dragons are 1.5yrs and upwards. All in pretty good health, etc etc.
After the pigout I found undigested superworms in their feces for about a week. :( In turn, superworms will never be on the pig out day. I will use them, but only in limited quantities.
Nightcrawlers/earthworms I don't think would be good staples. A good once in a while thing, but definately not regular...because....they are on the low end of the nutritional table as feeder bugs go. Make sure you poop em first, before feeding.
I am going to try this one tonight actually:
fish. Live fish. I breed my own, so I know how healthy they are. But small fish like rosy red minnows, guppies, livebearer babies, etc. would be a change. What I am going to do, is in some fresh water put a few guppies in it......give to dragon and see what they think of it. should prove to be an interesting experiment.
I'm not a roach fan, although my dragons do enjoy the crunch of the odd superworm beetle. Of course, freshly molted/changed are better. Even mealworm beetles, freshly molted or light coloured are good.
The above is all just my own opinion. Take it as you will :)

I say salads!!! LOL
Some nice dark greens like mustard, collard, kale, turnip, swiss chard, things like that with all the hard veiny thing taken out, with some veggies (well chopped up).

What about for a real picky eater (after an illness)
I'm giving her baby food now...trying to get her back on insects and greens (not interested at all in the greens)
