As much as i like ZEP I lost a lot of respect when they were sued for ripping off songs, namely Robert Johnson for "Whole lotta love". His version from the 1920's was intitled "gonna get some love", almost EXACTLY like ZEP's. SHAME.

If you like Tom Waits, you really should give Elvis a try. They are often spoke of in the same sentence when referring to genius' of our time. He may take a few tracks to get used to, but I guarantee you'll get hooked!

p.s. I've made the 8 hour drive to Minneapolis once this year to see him and I'm going again next month! It's worth the trip.

Have to say Blues is at the top of my list. B.B. King, S.R.V., Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Susan Tedeschi, Shemekia Copeland, Bonnie Raitt damn, can't list any real favourites though. After the blues, I enjoy all honest music, from Buffy Sainte-Marie and the Eagle Heart Drummers to Wagner and everything in-between. Keep the synthetic, technical stuff.

I am a singer/songwriter. I play guitar, piano, harmonica and sing. I was in a band for 5 years. We did ok. We put out a cd in 1998 which was produced my the guy behind Chantal Kreviazuk and McMaster and James. We kinda sounded like U2, Counting Crows and early Radiohead.

also, if you like like megadeth, ac/dc, and other classic metal/rock bands like that, try moneyshot (moneyshot.ca) They are punk/metal/blues influenced rock... really good, and talented.

also, for a light punk/rockabilly band that sound REALLY funky, try tiger army, they apeal to most people, they have good lyrics, good style, they arn't offensive, and write surprisingly good love songs. (tigerarmy.com)
