Stupid question

i took my 4 month old male out of his tank today and put him near my new female, well at least i think it is a female. when the "female" seen him s/he puffed up her beard before running away. heres the question, do the females get black beards? She is olny about a month old so i can see how my breeder could have made a mistake.

I may be wrong but I'm under the impression that any beardie can make their beard black. The males are probably more likely to be territorial and display aggressiveness so maybe that's why your are thinking beard = male.

Yep both male and female can display black beards. As Mike said though males are more likely to do it.

I've seen a black beard on my male too many times to count, but my female has had one only a few times.
