Hi there;)

I thought i would post some pics of another group ( whats left of it :( ) of colubrids I kept when I sold the colubrids last year 5/12 left...These are 4-5 yr LTC.

Some are still a bit grumpy as you can see on the pictures they still smash their nose on the front glass of their cages when disturbed.

Any Gonyosoma lovers? Babies for next year I hope.....

We tried our hand at a pair, but they succumbed to RI's.

Absolutely amazing snakes!! I'd love a CB baby. Best of luck!!!

I just got a pair of CB babies from a gravid wild-caught. They are GORGEOUS and I can't wait until they are eating without having to tease them mercilessly. I'll sleep a lot better once they know what their dinner is!

I'll post pic's when I get them more settled (just got them on Sunday).

Stav.: What conditions do you keep yours at (temp./humidity). I have the general info but I don't always trust it. Better to find out from a successful keeper if you know what I mean!

Thanks,
Francis

Nice to see some of those still around Stav.
brings back memories.... I had a nice pair once that came from Quebec.. I think Guy Delande produced them.. or at least somebody in PQ did.
I raised them up and sold them to make room for another project. That was close to 10 years ago... As I recall, they were very big eaters and fairly high strung!!! Curious and fairly alert... Nice snakes!

Thats sad:( Most of them are already sick when they come in and those that are not will be because they've been in close contact with the sick ones, because they are more susceptible to deseases when their immune system is low due to low temperatures in shipping + stress. I've kept around 2 dozens since i keep snakes , first without any thought of breeding them. I lost only a pair ( totally my fault ) not because of desease due to importation. Imagin also that they spend quite some time at wholesaler's wearhouses and in petshops which most of the time keep them all together and most of the time ( here in quebec at least ) in bad temperature range.

Stav.: What conditions do you keep yours at (temp./humidity). I have the general info but I don't always trust it.

I found out that these snakes are quite susceptible to RI if not kept hot.
All the imports I bought had it or developed it soon after importation. I buy them as soon as they arrive in Canada. They all have to be treated with antibiotics and all have to be deparitised and kept in high temp range. I never had any problems when kept at between 30 - 32 celcius not under 25. I keep them at those temps all year long except for cooling. If cooled to much they get RI. For the humidity if they shed in one piece its the right humidity. I never had any cb ones so I cant say if it is the same for cb. If you want my opinion it would be pretty close if not the same maybe Roy could answer more accuratly to your question.

Yes I know who he is I met him a cpl of times he came to one of the Montreal's herp association meeting last year also. He's also a pioneer like you "Uncle Roy";) and the author of a cornsanke book printed in the mid 80' i f my memory is good. The name of the book is " Vous et votre serpent " A blast from the past:)

We'll see next year what happens as far as breeding those guys.

( hope you understand my english:rolleyes: )
